Known as the jewel of the Caribbean, Barbados has a lot to offer. The capital, Bridgetown, boasts stunning architectural wonders dating back to the early 17th century, including the many museums, restaurants and fantastic shops on Broad and Swan Streets. Outdoor activities abound, including scuba diving for sunken ships at the bottom of Carlisle Bay, guided tours of 18th-century rum distilleries, and horse racing at the famous Garrison Savannah Racetrack. For a dose of history, there are various works of art and artifacts at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, plus you can pose with celebrities at the Caribbean Wax Museum. Ideal for families, Barbados features Rascal Water Park (the largest floating water park in the Caribbean). You can also explore the limestone caves at Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure Park and see vervet monkeys, turkeys and turtles at the Barbados Wildlife Reserve.
Continuing with our press tour, we flew from Saint Lucia to Barbados, where after visiting some emblematic sites, we visited Harrison's Cave Eco Adventure Park, an unmissable experience for anyone traveling to this destination.
It is a tourist attraction mentioned for the first time in historical documents from 1795. Tourists can access the underground environment by tram. For almost 200 years they were forgotten. In 1976 the Danish speleologist Ole Sørensen, together with an expert from Barbados, Tony Mason, rediscovered them.
The caves opened as a tourist attraction in 1981, and allow visitors to see some of the most beautiful natural geological features in Barbados. Now it is one of the number one attractions of the destination, attracting the attention of visitors since they were created naturally by the erosion of water through the limestone rock.
On the other hand, on the southeast coast of Barbados we enjoyed St. Phillip at Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All-Inclusive Resort. Located on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, this magnificent resort is steps from a beautiful beach and next to a majestic 19th century castle with a fascinating history. For guests looking to immerse themselves in the resort experience with an all-inclusive plan, it offers a wide range of amenities, dining options and activities.
The resort features sustainable and eco-friendly practices throughout the 29-acre property. It is divided into 422 oversized rooms and suites with panoramic views, large balconies, 24-hour room service, and must-haves like free high-speed WiFi, stocked minibars, and flat-screen HDTVs. Additionally, it has restaurants offering gourmet cuisine and carefully located bars serving craft cocktails and irresistible snacks. It offers a selected program of daily activities and evening entertainment, as well as a children's pool, babysitting service and activities for the little ones.
