American Airlines will become the only U.S. carrier to fly to South Caicos Airport (XSC) in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Beginning February 15, 2025, American will operate two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Miami (MIA) to XSC, complementing the airline’s existing service to Providenciales International Airport (PLS). All flights to XSC will operate on Embraer 175 aircraft with seating for 76 passengers, including 12 first class seats.
"With the launch of American's second destination in the Turks and Caicos Islands, we are excited to continue to strengthen our international presence, including a winter operation of more than 190 peak-day flights to 44 destinations in the Caribbean and Atlantic," said Jose A Freig, American's vice president of international operations. "With this new service, as well as our additional winter flights, we expect to grow our Caribbean and Atlantic operation by more than 5 percent compared to the prior year, highlighting our commitment to the region and providing our customers with an unparalleled network."
