Avianca, together with the Costa Rican Tourism Board, is pleased to announce to travelers the increase in frequencies on the San José - Quito - Buenos Aires (Ezeiza) route, which will connect Costa Rica and Argentina, with a brief stopover in Ecuador. During this stopover, which lasts approximately 1 hour, customers do not need to get off the plane at the Mariscal Sucre Airport in Quito.

With this increase of three weekly frequencies, the airline will now offer one daily flight and more than 2,100 seats per week.

“We are very pleased to announce this increase in frequencies, which will undoubtedly not only provide more options for Costa Ricans to explore Argentina, but will also promote tourism to Costa Rica from both Argentina and Quito. We thank the Costa Rican authorities who have supported us in making this a reality,” said Rolando Damas, Avianca Sales Director for North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

For his part, William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism, stated: “We continue to work intensively on our strategy to attract airlines or increase frequencies from our main issuing markets and other emerging markets such as South America. Starting August 31, Avianca will increase the route between Juan Santamaria International Airport and Buenos Aires, via Quito, Ecuador, from 4 to 7 weekly frequencies. This increase in frequencies will undoubtedly increase the number of Argentine and South American tourists to the country, in addition to providing Costa Ricans with greater opportunities to travel to the emblematic city of Buenos Aires. We reaffirm that we expect a highly positive high season for the benefit of families that depend on tourism and productive chains.”
