Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority partners with Premier Gospel Awards

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is delighted to announce its partnership with the 2024 Premier Gospel Awards, a prestigious event celebrating the UK’s vibrant and inspiring gospel music scene. Led by Cherrie Osborne, Director of Tourism for the UK and Europe at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, this collaboration emphasises the cultural ties between our nations and showcases the power of music to foster connections and shared experiences.

This year, the Premier Gospel Awards introduce an exciting new category – ‘Best Worship Group’ – which highlights the exceptional talent and spiritual dedication of worship groups from across the UK. The shortlisted groups – New Jerusalem Worship Team, KXC, Sounds Of Liberty and Tab Worship – have not only demonstrated remarkable musical talent, but have also led their congregations into profound spiritual experiences. Their nomination is a testament to their hard work, commitment and the significant impact they have had on the gospel music community.

As the public voting phase draws to a close, there is a lot at stake. The winning group will receive a magnificent holiday to our two-island nation, Antigua and Barbuda, courtesy of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. This all-expenses-paid prize includes accommodation at Harbour Island Residences, a valued partner of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, which provides its well-appointed two-bedroom villas for the winners’ stay. Located in the beautiful Jolly Harbour Marina, these residences offer the perfect base for the winners to explore. The prize also includes tickets to the Playing to Inspire concert on April 12, which offers a unique opportunity to continue celebrating the powerful connection between music and faith, while showcasing Antigua’s rich musical heritage.

The ‘Best Worship Group’ category not only highlights individual worship groups, but also underlines our shared dedication to preserving the spiritual legacy of gospel music. Notably, New Jerusalem’s worship team includes musicians who have supported BRIT Award-winning artist Raye, Sounds Of Liberty features singers who have performed with some of the biggest names in Afrobeats, and Tab Worship has been a guest artist at Stormzy’s private birthday event. These connections highlight the wide-ranging influence and exceptional quality of talent within the UK gospel music scene.
