BENCHMARK names Sales & Marketing for Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort in Curacao

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Scott Ward director of sales and marketing for Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort in Curacao. John MacMullen, Benchmark’s regional director of sales and marketing for Florida and Caribbean, made the announcement.
“Scott has an impeccable reputation as a sales and marketing professional across the Caribbean region, so Benchmark jumped at the opportunity to secure him as part of our team,” said Mr. MacMullen. “He is an experienced and knowledgeable leader who will bring new energy and knowhow to our sales and marketing effort at Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort.”
Scott Ward was previously interim director of sales and marketing for Benchmark’s South Florida properties, Beachwalk Resort (Hallandale Beach) and Marenas Beach Resort (Sunny Isles Beach). He transitions to his new role with Benchmark as John MacMullen expands his area of responsibility to include formal oversight for the company’s expanding portfolio in Florida and the Caribbean in his role as regional director of sales and marketing.
Scott Ward has a rich history and important experience within the Caribbean market that will serve him well in this new role with Benchmark. Prior to joining the company’s Florida team at Beachwalk and Marenas, Mr. Ward held several senior sales leadership positions, including regional director of sales and marketing for the Westin Dawn Beach Resort and Spa in St. Maarten; director of sales and marketing for Capella Resort Marina and Spa of Marigot Bay, St. Lucia; and regional director of sales and marketing for Scrub Island Resort Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands.
Mr. Ward is a graduate of Elon University in Elon, North Carolina. He serves on the advisory board for the University South Florida and is the recipient of numerous awards of excellence, including the Market Share Success Award, Autograph Collection/Marriott International; the Best Sales Team award for his earlier success at Vail Resorts, Rock Resorts; and the Classic Vacation Resort Chain of the Year award from 2011.
