Countdown to Termatalia Week 2019
Between September 17 and 21 will be held in Ourense (Spain) the International Congress on Thermalism and Demographic Challenge organized by the “Raia Termal” project, the III Symposium on Thermalism and Quality of Life of the University of Vigo and the 19th edition from Termatalia
Expourense hosted this morning a new meeting of the advisory committee of Termatalia in which about twenty experts in health tourism in Spain and Portugal met in detail the different scientific and academic programs of the so-called "Termatalia Week". Between September 17 and 21, Ourense will become the world epicenter of knowledge and specialized training in health tourism, hosting three important international events that will contribute to the development of the sector, positioning Ourense capital, province and Galicia in general as international centers of thermal training. The attendance of professionals from some thirty countries is already confirmed.
The “Termatalia Week” will start on September 17 with the “International Congress on Thermalism 2021-2027: Dynamization of Territories and Demographic Challenge” organized by the project “Thermal Raia” in the Lobios Spas with the leadership of the Provincial Council of Ourense, the Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation and the cross-border thermal municipalities of Terras de Bouro and Melgaço and financed with Interrreg Funds of the European Union.
The other professional meeting of the week will be the III edition of the Symposium on Thermalism and Quality of Life led by the Water Campus of the University of Vigo and will be held in Expourense on September 18 and 19. It is an open and interactive international forum, in which researchers and professionals from the thermal sector debate and reflect on scientific works of water, health and well-being, tourism and technological innovation; They also receive practical training through health, wellness and technology workshops. This Symposium has received more than 60 scientific communications from researchers from both Europe and Latin America.
This week will conclude with the celebration on September 19 and 20, in Expourense, of the 19th edition of Termatalia, International Fair of Thermal Tourism, Health and Welfare, consolidated as a major global business center of health tourism and thermal industry. The academic program of the fair will be included in the XIV International Meeting on Water and Health in which 35 speakers from 13 countries and which includes the holding of a scientific session on Medical Hydrology and another on Tourism, Innovation and Sustainability.
The experts who attended the meeting this morning showed their satisfaction with the quality and innovation of the scientific programs presented, which are the result of inter-institutional cooperation, and pledged to disseminate and promote it in order to reach as many professionals as possible. . Attendance at these forums of university students of careers such as Medicine or Vocational Training cycles related to health and well-being is also confirmed.
